Rocks
The petrology collection contains nearly 5,000 samples from around the world, including approximately 2,500 regional rock specimens and polished marbles. This diversity is essential to understanding the geological processes that have shaped our planet.
Minerals
With nearly 10,000 minerals, all minerals on Earth are represented with reference sets such as Alexis Chermette’s donation of fluorites and the exceptional collection of azurites from Chessy-les-Mines.
Gems
In addition to the minerals, the 600 samples of precious and semi-precious stones, both rough and cut, offer a beautiful variety of materials that can be used in jewellery, each with its own different types of cuts.
