Human and Animal Mummies
The 2,500 preserved mummies are remains preserved by natural or artificial techniques linked to funeral practices. They offer a fascinating insight into ancient cultures, their beliefs and their way of life.
Objects from the Pharaonic Period
Over 3,000 objects from various periods of occupation of the Egyptian Nile valley are part of the Musée des Confluences collections. These artefacts include food offerings, figurines, jewellery and tools.
Predynastic Objects
Less publicised than those from the historical period, the 600 objects from the predynastic period represent a unique collection, particularly the collection of vases and make-up palettes from the Nagada period, as well as the ‘Two Bearded Men’.
